Notts Rocks
Location: City of Caves, Nottingham
Explore how the man-made sandstone caves have been used over time. Learn how sandstone is formed, identify and sort different rock samples and explore how fossils are made.
Students will get the opportunity to:
- Explore a unique set of historically significant caves with one of our expert guides.
- Learn how the way people have used the caves has changed over time from the 1400’s through to the 1940’s
- Take part in 3 different experiments looking at how sandstone is formed, how fossils are created and identifying and grouping different kinds of rocks based on their properties.
