Cave Explorers

Location: City of Caves, Nottingham

Explore how the man-made sandstone caves have been used over time. Learn how archaeologists find out this information and get hands on with a mini-dig.

Students will get the opportunity to:

  • Explore a unique set of historically significant caves with one of our expert guides.
  • Learn how the way people have used the caves has changed over time from the 1400’s through to the 1940’s
  • Get hands on excavating and interpreting a range of objects linked to our caves to understand how our knowledge of the past is constructed.
